Brushing
Twice daily brushing and cleaning between your teeth with floss is essential because it removes plaque and other food debris. If the plaque isn’t removed, it continues to build up, feeding on the food debris left behind and causing tooth decay and gum disease. Which could result in cavities or tooth loss.
Flossing
Floss is used to clean the areas above the gum line and between teeth where your toothbrush cannot reach. Flossing aids the prevention of decay between teeth. It is available in dispensers, single strands or on sticks.
Fissure Sealants
Fissure sealants are a quick, safe and pain free way of protecting your children’s teeth from decay. The sealant used is a protective plastic coating, which is painted on to the biting surfaces of the back teeth and cured with a high intesnsity light. The sealant forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay. This treatment is performed by our childsmile nurses that are always on site should you wish to discuss any aspect of your childs teeth.
Mouth Rinse
A mouth rinse can help by removing the plaque and debris deposited between teeth reducing inflammation and puffy bleeding gums. Which can result in tooth mobility and finally tooth loss.
