How Is A White Filling Placed?

Following preparation, the white filling material is placed in the tooth in increments and is then set to harden using a specialized light, this process is then repeated until the tooth has been filled. When the filling is finished your dentist will shape the composite to fit the tooth and to make sure your biting down properly. Your dentist will then polish the composite to prevent staining and early wear.

What Are The Advantages?

Composites bond to the tooth to support the remaining tooth structure, which helps to prevent breakage and insulate the tooth from excessive temperature change.
