NHS Dentistry offers essential dental care to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums. At Dental Studio Scotland, our friendly and experienced team of NHS dentists are here to support patients of all ages with high-quality, affordable treatment across our Scotland clinics.
NHS dental services cover a wide range of treatments, from preventive dental care like fluoride treatments and regular dental checks, to necessary procedures like fillings, extractions, and hygiene cleaning. Whether you’re dealing with tooth decaying, gum disease, or simply want to keep your smile in top condition, our team is here for you.
Book An AppointmentWhen you register as an NHS dentist patient, our friendly team will ask you to complete a medical history form to better understand your overall health. We will then arrange your first dental check-up at a time that suits you. Along with your appointment details, you’ll receive a welcome leaflet outlining the dental services we provide and what to expect as an NHS patient.
At your initial examination, your NHS dentist will carry out a comprehensive oral health review to help maintain healthy teeth and gums. This will include:
If your dentist identifies the need for treatment, they will take the time to explain all available NHS treatment options. You will be given a printed treatment plan that outlines the recommended care and any associated costs. Should you wish to pursue aesthetic or advanced care not covered by NHS dental services, we also offer the option to upgrade to private treatment for services such as teeth whitening, dental implants, and white fillings for back teeth.
We’re committed to helping every patient maintain healthy teeth and gums, prevent problems before they arise, and offer both NHS and private treatment paths based on your needs.
NHS dental care includes preventive care, check-ups, essential dental treatments like fillings, extractions, fluoride varnish, and scale and polish. Cosmetic treatments are not included.
Adults usually pay a government-set fee. However, NHS treatment is free if you’re pregnant, had a baby in the last 12 months, or receive certain benefits. Always bring documentation to confirm your eligibility.
Yes. You can register as an NHS patient along with your partner and children — we recommend registering children by the time their first tooth appears or around six months of age.
Your dentist will explain which options are available under NHS dental care and which fall under private treatment, such as white fillings for back teeth or teeth whitening.
